Abstract
During centuries Albanian scholars were distinguished as prominent astronomers as well. Evidences come from XV-th century when Gjon Gazulli was a doctor of sciences, professor of University of Padua, Italy with his theory and tables on stellar movement. Another Albanian astronomer of this time, Leonik Tomeu was professor of Copernicus at the University of Florence, Italy. From XV-th century till XX-th century there are a lot of Albanian famous astronomers working as university rectors, observatory directors and in the same time patriots fighting for the independence of Albanian from Turkish Empire. They wrote many books for students on astronomy issues and scientific books and articles. The last one is William Gregory, Albanian-American astronaut.
